Fall Cleaning...A weekend sweep for the Rebel Bs!
The 'Team Tedford - REMAX' Midget B girls hit the road Friday night to start off a busy three game weekend in Kitchener.
The Lady Rangers provided a measuring stick type opponent for the Rebels having gone unbeaten to start their season.  That didn't phase the B's as they stormed out of the gate, dominating the play in the first period.

90% of the frame was played in the Ranger end as shift after shift of Rebel attack hemmed in the home team.
The Lady Rangers Amazon like goaltender was equal to the Rebels challenge however as she turned away all efforts ending the period in a scoreless draw.
A couple Rebel penalties let Kitchener back into the game in the second but gave Ashlynn Stephenson a chance to prove she could come up big too!
It looked like the teams would fight to a draw as the third played on but a gritty effort by Brontae Frook to keep the puck in the Ranger end resulted in Katelynn Lavergne popping the puck in over the outstretched Kitchener goalies right pad.
Great defensive efforts from Lindsay Elliot and Morgan Moran with strong forechecking by the line of Lavergne, Frook and Grace Kivell were noteworthy in the Rebels win!
Final Rebels 1-Kitchener0

Saturday the team returned to play their home opener against the Twin Center Hericanes. The teams played a fairly even first period, trading chances at both ends. Tristin Brown and Rachel Mallette each coming close.
Fatigue may have been a factor in the second as the Hericanes took the game to the home squad.  Stephenson was solid in net and kept us in it so we could take advantage of our opportunity. That came at 6:08 when Aubrey Urbshott beat the Twin Center goalie for her first of the season. Hunter Moffat and Tristin Brown assisted on the play.
Penalty troubles in the third had the Rebels on their heals but the penalty killers were on their game as Natallie Franks and Mallette had great efforts in keeping the puck deep in the Hericane end!
Ashlynn Stephenson recorded her second shutout in as many days and had good defensive help from Kenna Mckee and Joren Wilcox to help.
Final: Rebels 1- Twin Center 0

Finally on Sunday the Rebels wrapped up the weekend against the Woodstock Wildcats.
Grace Kivell and Natallie Franks each had early opportunities in the first but were turned away. Stephenson returned the favour keeping the period in a scoreless tie.
The penalty kill unit had another workout in the second thwarting a couple chances against the Wildcat advantage. The one power play that did click was our own as Reese Wilkins sprung Tristan Brown free and she didn't miss beating the low stick side on the Woodstock goalie.
The Wildcats finally solved Stephenson on a second chance attempt to tie the game early in the third. The tide of the game changed and the penalty trouble continued to put us at a disadvantage.  Again it looked like the game would end in a draw until Joren Wilcox saved the puck from exiting the Woodstock end and found Jade Gilchrist in the slot. Jade fired a laser over the glove into the top corner. Strong defence closed out a well earned victory for the girls and kept their season without a loss.
Next up are two home games this weekend with Mitchell and Kincardine.
