STORM CHASERS! Rebel B's hit round 2 vs Twin Center Hericanes
After two tense scoreless games, the Team Tedford Remax Midget girls B finally broke out in their do or die game 3 with the Kitchener Lady Rangers!

With the coaches putting a bounty on goals for game three and the opportunity to advance to the LLFHL semi finals, the girls came out fired up and focussed!

The teams traded early chances through the first three shifts of the game as Grace Kivell missed a chance to stuff the puck into an open cage while at the other end, Ashlynn Stephenson had to be sharp on a two on one rush.  The line of Tristan Brown, Rachel Mallette and Brontae Frook swarmed the Rangers and caused all kinds of panic!  Mallette intercepted a neutral zone pass and fed Brown who made not one but two great moves to elude two defenders and fired a laser into the top corner over the tenders glove hand! This marked the first time in 70 minutes of hockey that one of these teams scored!!!

The Rebels continued to take the game to the Rangers but as it happens so often in sports, momentum is broken out of nowhere! What looked to be a harmless three on two as the Rebels attempted a shift change turned into the visitors evening the score with only 4 seconds left in the opening frame! The goal halted Stephenson's shutout marathon streak at 81 minutes going all the way back to the last regular season game!

The second period opened like the first with each team trading chances and the second wave of Rebels changed the game once again as Kenna McKee created a neutral zone turn over and Joren Wilcox took the loose puck and drove down the right wing.  As she cut in at the hash mark, she fired a low wrist shot that handcuffed the Ranger goalie and put the B's up as it turned out for good!

With just under four minutes left in the second, Brontae Frook set up Tristan Brown and she "made it rain", putting the Rebels up 3-1 to the delight of the crowd!
After killing off a penalty to finish the frame, the B's went to work in shutting down the Rangers for the third period.  Katelynn Lavergne's line of Kyla Thalen and Grace Kivell wore down the Rangers defenders with a relentless forechecking game!  Our defence of Morgan Moran, Lindsay Ellioit, Aubrey Urbshott, Kenna Mckee and Hunter Moffat turned away any offensive opportunity and turned it into our own chance.
The newly formed line of Jade Gilchrist, Michaela Sadler and Joren Wilcox never let up on the Rangers and had several good scoring chances.  The last of these came as the Rebs were changing while controlling the play in the Kitchener end.  Aubrey Urbshott worked the biscuit to Michaela Sadler in the corner who made a great pass out front to a fresh Brontae Frook. She slammed a one timer behind the Ranger goalie to finish the day off!

The buzzer sounded at the end of the game but the buzz continued to the dressing room and the coaches emptied their wallets to the cheers of the Rebels!
Next up is a semi final date with the number one seeded Twin Center Hericanes.
At the same time the Tedford sponsored team will embark on their quest to qualify for provincials with a home and home series with Kincardine and Saugeen Shores.
