The
Country Charm Bantam B girls had a full
weekend of hockey!
First was against Guelph in Tara on Saturday afternoon. The score does not reflect the game as the cross-bar was hit 3 times!! The girls defeated Guelph 2-0 with the goals going to Maggie Klunder assisted by Tara Meikle and the second goal went to Meikle assisted by Emma MacDonnell and Abby Watson. Laura Naves earned the shut-out with another stellar game in the net.
The it was off to Watsons for some down time and food before we headed to Walkerton for the teams second game of the day! This game the girls wanted as we played Walkerton on Wednesday and it was a tie 1-1. The game was stressful to say the least, Tara Meikle was able to score the only goal of the game in the first period. The girls held that lead for the remainder of the game and Alyssa Turnbull earned the shut out as she was strong in the net and kept her cool in a very tense game! Well done team!!
Game 3 was on Sunday against the Ayr Rockets. It was a bit of a drive and you could tell the girls were tired but they came to play and left with another tight game with a win of 1-0. Goal was scored by Tara Meikle assisted by Jamie Gilchrist and Aubrey Urbshott. Laura Naves would earn her second shut out of the weekend.
Next game for the team is in Tara this Saturday against Guelph and the Team is having a food drive to help the Tara food Bank. Your donations would be appreciated!!
