ENDS THE SEASON WITH A BANG!!!!!!
Sunday March 29 was the end of the ScotiaBank PeeWee HL Girls Hockey Season and man did they go out with a bang!!  The Girls were ready to fight to the end……….and they did.  We were up against the Walkerton Capitals, a team that we Rebels are very evenly matched, and these two teams have always fought for the upper hand in each and every game they played against each other.  Sundays game would be no different, let me give you the run down.

Both teams hit the ice with fire and determination, and it was our Rebels that scored first with Brooklyn Moles sweet shot, hitting the back of Walkerton’s net assisted by Kristen Hamelin.  And that would be all the goals made in the first period.

In Period 2, Walkerton showed that they wanted the win just as bad as the Rebels, scoring 2 goals making it a 2 – 1 score for Walkerton.

Period 3 started off with Walkerton getting another goal making a score of 3 – 1, but our Ladies where not finished and showed Walkerton what they are made of.  Kristen Hamelin was the first Rebel to slip one past the Walkerton Goalie in the 3rd period, assisted by Brooklyn Mole.  And with 4:15 left, Brooklyn Mole tied the game up, assisted by Kristen Hamelin.  For the last 4 minutes of the game, both teams tried their hardest to get the winning goal but nothing was getting past our wicked awesome goalie Jadzia Leask and unfortunately nothing was getting past the Walkerton goalie either.

So our very first over time started. A 5:00 minute four on four was first, and neither team could find the back of the net, so another overtime started, this time it was 3 on 3.  And guess what……neither team was willing to give up, so the shoot-out began.  Our Goalie, Jadzia Leask was absolutely amazing between the pipes, and she did everything she could but it was Walkerton that scored first, although it did take 4 skaters first, Z you rocked that net!

What season these girls have had, bonds have been made; everlasting friendships have been sealed, between team mates, coaching staff and families.  I’m going to miss seeing and writing about all these wonderful girls, Aubrey Urbshott, Brooklyn Mole, Carly Juby, Grace Scott, Jadzia Leask, Janna Wardell, Kristen Hamelin, Sara Boulter, Sarah Madill, Taylor Legge, and our super-duper  AP’s, Natalie Mole and Natalie Madill.  And the amazing bench staff, which makes my life just a little bit easier; Jeff Wardell, Sean Leask, Dan Madill, Ron Mole and Jen Legge.   What an honor it has been to be part of this PeeWee House League team’s season!

Sincerely, Manager Michelle ;)

SCOTIA BANK
The Community Hockey Sponsorship program has always been Scotiabank’s way of showing our commitment to kids’ hockey, a sport which unifies our nation, community by community. That’s why each of our more than 1,000 branches financially supports a local hockey team, league or association in their community. We know that being part of a team gives children more than just a chance to play, but also a chance to become involved in their community. That’s why we’re encouraging our branch staff and sponsored teams to donate their time – the equivalent to one practice – towards making a positive impact in their community. By inspiring and participating in volunteer initiatives, we’re committed to help communities get stronger together, like a team. Because that’s what Canada is all about. Throughout the year we’ll be recognizing and celebrating teams across the country with unique hockey experiences like visits from NHL Alumni or the Stanley Cup!
