PEWEE HL GIRLS FIRED UP FOR YEAR END TOURNAMENT
What a Stupendous Saturday the ScotiaBank PeeWee HL team had!!  The Girls were up against the Upper Maitland Mustangs first, bright and early Saturday morning, for the WOAA year End tournament.

The game was a lot of back and forth and a lot of shots for and against. But Jadzia Leask was absolutely stunning in net and got the well-deserved shut out for this game.  No goals where made until the second period, and that’s when Sarah Boulter got one past the Upper Maitland Goalie, assisted by Taylor Legge and Aubrey Urbshott.  Then the pressure was on!  No matter how hard Upper Maitland tried they could not get thru our defense or anything past Jadzia.  Even when they pulled their goalie and we had a penalty, yes it was 6 on 4 for the last 30 seconds of the game; nothing was getting past our girls!! And the game ended with a score of 1 – 0.  The girls where stoked!!

Game number two of the day was up against the Mt. Forest Rams.  And that was an amazing game too!  The girl where still on their high from their morning win, and 20 seconds into the game, BAM, Sarah Boulter finds the back of the Mt. Forest net, unassisted.  Not another goal was made until the second period when Grace Scott found the mark and netted another goal for the Rebels assisted by Brooklyn Mole.  And then the game was on.  Carly Juby was sensational between the pipes, putting the kybosh on many, many shots.  Period three was a nail bitter!  Both teams trying their best to score,  Mt. Forest pulled their goalie, but it wasn’t until there was only 3.3 seconds left in the game and Mt. Forest scored the final goal of the game, making the final score 2 – 1.

Even know Mt. Forest scored, our girls won the game and our very own PeeWee HL Girls are off to play in the Championship game!!!!  The girls are ready; if we thought they were stoked Saturday morning they are Super Super Stoked now!!!  The girls hit the ice Sunday morning at 11:15am in Ayton against Walkerton.  Go Get‘em our Brilliantly Dazzling Girls!!

SCOTIA BANK
The Community Hockey Sponsorship program has always been Scotiabank’s way of showing our commitment to kids’ hockey, a sport which unifies our nation, community by community. That’s why each of our more than 1,000 branches financially supports a local hockey team, league or association in their community. We know that being part of a team gives children more than just a chance to play, but also a chance to become involved in their community. That’s why we’re encouraging our branch staff and sponsored teams to donate their time – the equivalent to one practice – towards making a positive impact in their community. By inspiring and participating in volunteer initiatives, we’re committed to help communities get stronger together, like a team. Because that’s what Canada is all about. Throughout the year we’ll be recognizing and celebrating teams across the country with unique hockey experiences like visits from NHL Alumni or the Stanley Cup!
