SEVEN SKATERS AND A TENDER
The ScotiaBank PeeWee Girls HL travelled to Teeswater Saturday morning to play South Bruce but came up short with a 4 – 1 loss.

This little team was even littler on Saturday being short 2 players but oh my goodness did they play their hearts out.  With our 7+1 players and South Bruce’s 15+1 players, the first period was a battle, but ended in 0 – 0.

It wasn’t until almost the end of period 2, that they slipped one past our goalie Jadzia Leask, despite her doing absolutely everything she could to keep it out, ending the period with a 1 – 0 score for South Bruce.

In the third period, South Bruce got 2 more goals early in the period but our Rebel Girl’s constant effort and team work paid off and we got a goal of our own, scored by Aubrey Urbshott, unassisted.  With only 1:27 left in the game, South Bruce snagged another goal ending the game with the score of 4 – 1.

We are uber proud of the girls pulling together and showing South Bruce that if they wanted to win they had to work for it!!  The girls are on the ice again on Tuesday March 10 at 6:00 pm on their home ice against Kincardine, come on out and cheer them on!! Go Girls Go!!

SCOTIA BANK
The Community Hockey Sponsorship program has always been Scotiabank’s way of showing our commitment to kids’ hockey, a sport which unifies our nation, community by community. That’s why each of our more than 1,000 branches financially supports a local hockey team, league or association in their community. We know that being part of a team gives children more than just a chance to play, but also a chance to become involved in their community. That’s why we’re encouraging our branch staff and sponsored teams to donate their time – the equivalent to one practice – towards making a positive impact in their community. By inspiring and participating in volunteer initiatives, we’re committed to help communities get stronger together, like a team. Because that’s what Canada is all about. Throughout the year we’ll be recognizing and celebrating teams across the country with unique hockey experiences like visits from NHL Alumni or the Stanley Cup!
