Wow What a Weekend the ScotiaBank PeeWee HL Girls had! They did some traveling and came up with a
Tie and a Win!
They started out having a foggy drive to Mt. Forest early Saturday morning. The Girls wanted the win but settled for the tie. Mt. Forest was first on the score board in the first period. But it was the third period where all the action was. The girls persisted and kept shooting, and it was Brooklyn Mole that tied the game up, assisted by Grace Scott and Natalie Mole. Jadzia Leask was on her game between the pipes, making more than I could count wicked awesome saves!! Mt. Forest was not finished scoring yet and with 3:21 minutes left in the game scored one more time. The Rebels did not give up and with 8.6 seconds left in the game, Brooklyn Mole got a breakaway and scored for the Rebels, and tied the game up again! Finishing the game with a score of 2 – 2.
The girls, still on their high from Saturday, traveled to Harriston on Sunday to battle the Upper Maitland Mustangs. And they were on a mission! The first period was scoreless, both our goalie, Carly Juby and the Upper Maitland’s Goalie, making some pretty marvelous saves! Sara Boulter was first on the score board, with a perfect pass from Kristen Hamelin. With only 0.41 seconds left in the first period, Brooklyn Mole took off on a breakaway and scored another for the Rebels. Making the score 2 – 0. Period three was very exciting, most of it being playing in the opposing end. Brooklyn Mole started the scoring in period three assisted by Natalie Madill. Next to score was Natalie Madill assisted by Sara Boulter, making the score 4 – 0. Upper Maitland were determined to get on the score board, one of their girls had a breakaway and Carly Juby made the save but those rebounds can be a goalies worse nightmare. But the Rebels where not finished yet! Brooklyn Mole had another quick skate down the ice and scored again, and BAM, HAT TRICK!! The girls where super stoked but had a little more energy left, and with only 1:41 left, Sarah Boulter sprinted off on her breakaway and sweetly tucked our last goal up in the top corner. Finishing the game with a score of 6 – 1.
The girls have some time off for some well-deserved rest, and the next time they hit the ice is at their year-end tournament March 27, 28 & 29th. Good Luck Girls, we know you can do it!!
