Meikle gets Hat-Trick as Atom Girls Defeat West Grey
The Desboro Lion's Club Atom C Rebel Girls defeated West Grey today 5-0 in regular league play.  The girls played to a huge crowd of Township of Chatsworth fans who had made their way to Durham to cheer the girls on! Tara Meikle got the hat-trick and Abby Vokes added two doubles.  Grace Vokes got the shut out.

The first period was fairly even and ended in a 0-0 tie. The Rebels opened the scoring early in the second period when Tara Meikle tore up the ice and fired one past the West Grey goalie unassisted.  Five minutes later Abigail Vokes made it 2-0 assisted by Summer Roney and Emma MacDonnell.  Not long after, Abby Vokes raced up the ice stick handling by West Grey players to score the Rebels third goal, unassisted, and bring the score to 3-0.  In the third period Tara Meikle added two more markers to earn a hat-trick,  Her first goal was assisted by Georgia Rutter and her second was assisted by Grace Scott.  Way to go girls! Good luck this weekend when you face South Bruce and Saugeen Shores in playdown action!
