Rebels Split a Pair of Games this Past Weekend
The Power Worker's Union Midget Boys Local League Rebels won one and lost one this weekend in WOAA playoff action. Friday night they lost 3-1 to Bruce Peninsula but turned it around on Sunday to beat the Owen Sound Jr. Attack 5-2.

On a blustery February Friday night the team made the trek up to Lion's head and managed to make it through all the drifts and black ice to battle Bruce Peninsula North Stars. We were missing a few boys but were ready for action, or at least we thought we were ready. It wasn't the greatest start to the game as Bruce Pen. took the draw and raced down into our end and tipped one in, less that 15 seconds into the game. The Boys shook it off and manged to only be down 1-0 at the end of the first period. In the second the North Starts got another one on a mishap in front of our net as one of our own put it in for them. We were down 2-0 and Jason Rudolph MacLoed had to leave the game with a knee injury. DJ Gamble came in for Jason and did a great job only give in up one on a questionable play.

The boys were down 3-0 heading into the third and put forth a good effort. we did manage to get on the board with just over 2 minutes left as Charlie Scott banged in one. We managed to keep the pressure up but were unable to find the back of the net. Tough one boys.

Sunday's game in Markdale against Owen Sound was a different story. It was the rebels who scored first on the Power Play as Chris Hardman put one in off a pass from Landon Heathers. Owen Sound would tie it up at the 10 minute mark of the first and then eventually pulled ahead 2-1 before the end of the first period.

In the second the Rebels took control as the undermanned Jr Attack started to lose steam. Jordan Longland bounced one in from the point with an assist from Charlie Scott to tie the game and the Rebels just kept rolling from there. On another Power Play, Scott scored with assists from James Pinkston and Hardman. At the break we were up 3-2

In the third Dalan Frook picked up a pair one with an assist to Hardman and the last one was unassisted. Final score 5-2 Rebels, who improved to 3-1 in the playoffs. Good job boys!
