Houston Leads Rebels to Victory Over Falcons
The Power Worker's Union Midget Boys Local League Rebels battled the Hanover Falcons in Markdale today and came away with a 5-2 win.

Well once again the Rebels were not the first team on the board as Hanover opened the scoring in the first period. At 9:35 Chris Hardman intercepted a pass and took it in to tie things up. At the end of the first things were even at 1-1.

Hanover was a man short at the start of the second and it didn't take the Rebels long to take the lead on a nice play. Pearce Lacey broke in on the right side and found the net after assists from James Pinkston and Dylan Leddingham. The Falcons would respond shortly after that to tie it again 2-2. The boys responded by moving the puck around well and they were rewarded as Talmon Ash hit Brandon Lidstrom who then fed Adam Gorman going to the net. 3-2 Rebels. The boys would extend their lead to two when Wes Houston had a beauty tip on a shot from Landon Heathers.

Midway through the third William Hoare chipped the puck up the Hardman who came in on the left and centered a pass to a streaking Houston for another great goal. The boys managed to keep the Falcons from mounting any comeback and the game finished 5-2. DJ Gamble again was solid in the net making some key saves for the boys and holding the Falcons at bay. Great job boys.

With the win the boys only have one game remaining in the round robin playoff loop next Saturday night in Southampton against the Saugeen Shores Storm #1. Having only one loss to this point the Rebels have put themselves in a good position to win the group and move on to the WOAA final series.
