Rebels Finish Strong to Beat Storm
On March 3rd the Power Worker's Union Midget Boys Local League Rebels took to the ice against the Saugeen Shores Storm #1 in Markdale. It took overtime but the boys picked up another win in their playoff run beating the Storm 3-2.

The Rebels seemed to have the jump at the start controlling the play in the Saugeen Shores end early but on their first rush up to the Rebels end it was the Storm who got on the board first. Then 4 minutes later a tip on a point shot beat Dj Gamble and the Storm had gained a 2-0 edge on our boys. Chris Hardman would get the Rebels on the board before the end of the first period with the helper going to Wes Houston. 2-1 Storm after the first.

Each team would get some chances in the second period but no team managed to score so the Rebels were down 2-1 heading into the third frame. Hardman would even things up with an assist from Landon Heathers with 3:54 left to go in the game. The last few minutes of the third were interesting to say the least. There was a barrage of penalties and before the dust settled we were heading to overtime. The Storm took a penalty in the last minute which would cost them a man for 8 minutes. Having the man advantage in overtime gave the Rebels many chances to win the game. With 5:19 left in the extra period Captain Clutch Brandon Lidstrom received a pass from Talmon Ash, crossed the blue line and let a hard low shot go just inside the Storm end that beat the goalie. Rebels Win!!! Great comeback boys, lets keep it rolling on Friday night in the very important battle against Bruce Peninsula.
