Hardman Nets 4
Chris Hardman lead the Power Worker's Union Midget Boys Local League Rebels past the Walkerton Capitals Sunday in Markdale.

Both teams looked ready at the start of the match up with each team getting some quality chances. In spite of this the first period was scoreless. Walkerton manged to score first midway through the second. Chris Hardman was able to tie it up with a feed from Charlie Scott with 3:11 left in the second. Hardman put the Rebels up 2-1 with 34 seconds left in the period as he picked up his own rebound and buried it.

Things got a little tense as the Capitals tied the game 2-2 at 13:38 in the third. Three minutes later Hardman completed the Hat Trick again on a pass from Scott. Rebels 3 Capitals 2. The Rebels took over the game from there as Pearce Lacey found the back of the net with an assist from Talmon Ash. Scott would add another for the Rebels on a pass from James Pinkston with 3:29 left in the game. 5-2 Rebels. The Capitals put on some pressure at the end of the period and managed to score a short handed goal with 54 seconds left. Hardman would add an empty netter to make the final score 6-3 in favour of the Rebels.

There was a lot of heart and determination showed by our Rebels today and DJ Gamble had another great game in net, making timely saves to keep the boys in the game early and prevent the Capitals from gaining any momentum later in the game. Super effort boys.

The boys have a busy week of Hockey as they host the Saugeen Shores Storm #1 on Tuesday at 7:30, The Bruce Peninsula North Stars Friday at 7:00 and the Hanover Falcons Sunday at 12:30. All games are in Markdale at the Centre Grey Rec Complex. Go get 'em boys
