Rebels Open Playoffs with a Win
The Power Workers Union Midgets got off on the right foot in playoff play with a 2-0 win over the Owen Sound Jr. Attack Friday night at the Bayshore.

The boys took to the big ice at the Bayshore and started a little tentative. While they seemed to control a lot of the play they were tied 0-0 after the first period. It was half way through the second frame before the boys got on the board as Pearce Lacey fired one home off a feed from William Hoare. The boys seemed to come alive after the forst goal and controlled the game.

There was one solid chance in the second for the Attack but DJ Gamble came up with and amazing glove save stretching back across the net. It looked like a save made by Marc Andre Fleury of the Vegas Golden Knights that was in the top plays of the year. The period ended with the Rebels up 1-0.

The boys continued their strong play into the third and kept getting chances and keeping the puck in Owen Sound's end during the third. Again at the midway point of the period the Rebels scored to extend their lead to 2-0. Chris Hardman got the goal with an assist coming from James Pinkston.

Owen Sound pulled their goalie but Gamble and the boys were able to preserve the shutout. Final score 2-0 for the Rebels. Great job boys! Let's keep thing going on Tuesday as we battle the Walkerton Capitals. Game time is 9:15 in Walkerton. Go get em' Rebels!
