Rebels Look to Avenge Rough Loss
The Power Workers' Union Rebels were looking for a better effort and result when they faced the Kincardine Kinnucks #2. In their first meeting earlier this year the Kinnucks took it to the Rebels for a 9-1 win. Today things would be different.
The boys came out skating hard and moving the puck well. Their hard work paid off as they lead after the first period 2-1. Chris Hardman crammed one into the net and Talmon Ash took a pass from Dalan Frook and ripped it top shelf.
The Kinnucks scored in the second to even the game 2-2 as they headed to the third.
The team came out on fire in the last frame and jumped out to a 4-2 lead on goals by Hardman, who tipped a point shot from Brandon Lidstrom, and Pearce Lacey with a shot to the short side.
At 8:24 the Kinnucks would score to get to within one and then with 3:12 they would tie the game. The rebels shook the goals off and settled down to keep pace with the Kinnucks. The teams looked like they were heading to a tie but heart break again for the Rebels as with less than 20 seconds left the Kinnucks scored to steal the game away.
While the result was not a win for the boys they should hold their heads up as they served notice that they were a changed team from the game earlier this year.
