The Power Workers Union Midget Boys Local League team traveled to Tiverton to take on the Kincardien Kinnucks Saturday night. The Rebels came out ready to go and had some chances early in the game. Dalan Frook would track down a loose puck as it left the Rebels end and took it all the way down and fired one top shelf, where they keep the Peanut Butter at 4:50 in the first period. Jason Rudolph-Macleod was solid in net stoning the Kinnucks and the first period ended 1-0 Rebels.
To start the second Kincardine had some early pressure on the Rebels and after a mad scramble in front of the Rebels net they managed to tie the game at 13:54. Chris Hardman would get a pass in the neutral zone from William Hoare and enter the Kinnucks zone where he too would go high to make it 2-1 Rebels at 6:55. The Rebels held on to end the second period still up 2-1.
The boys were playing some good solid defense for most of the third period but at 3:11 the Kinnucks tied the game. Then at 1:13 there was a surprising shot from the point that was tipped into the net giving the Kinnucks their first lead of the game. In spite of some extra effort from the Rebels in the last minute they were unable to score making the final 3-2 Kincardine. Good solid effort boys.
The Rebels will regroup and get ready for a rematch with Bruce Peninsula Friday night in Wiarton, game time is 8:00.
