Rebels vs. Lakers
The township of Chatsworth and District, Moggie Valley Timber Inc., Midget Rep Rebels took to the ice vs. the Shallow Lake Lakers.  Rebels could clinch the series with a win and Lakers could tie the series if they won.

It wasn't a great game for the Rebels.  Already, early in the first, they looked kinda tired and beat up and didn't seem to have the determination to be first to the puck they had shown earlier in the series. Even so, Rebels still spent more time in the Lakers end of the ice than in their own, but Rebel goalie Lawson Cumming saw a little more action than he had in some of the other games.  Cumming proved that whether he saw 2 shots in a period or 20, he would come up big when then Rebels needed him and keep the Rebels net clear.
Rebels were on the receiving end of some nasty take downs and the Rebel trainer had to take to the ice on several occasions.  Rebels fans were loud in their displeasure at a number of the calls (and non-calls) during the game and it appeared warranted.
Rebels were constantly changing lines on the fly to accommodate injuries and trying to find the right combination to get on the score board.  Rebels may have not had quite as many scoring opportunities, but they had some great ones that kept the fans on the edge of their seat or on their feet.  Breakaways, battles around the net, a post, a crossbar,...
Three periods of play saw the horn go with 0 - 0 still showing on the score board.  For the 3rd meeting in a row, the game would be decided in sudden death overtime.  Rebels had a number of great scoring opportunities by a number of different players and practically everyone on the ice had a shot at some point but they just couldn't seem to get it over the goal line.  In their own end, a number of great defensive plays, some solid stops and a spectacular save or two by Cumming saw the Rebels net remain clear.
When all was said and done and the Zamboni took to the ice the score remained 0 - 0 and the series continues with the next game in Markdale on Sunday at 2 pm.  If the Lakers win this game, they tie the series and play returns to Shallow Lake.  If the Rebels win or tie the game, they win the series and move on to face Drayton in OMHA play.
Rebels have been the dominant team throughout the duration of this series.  Come out and support them and cheer them to victory.
Let's go Rebels!!!
