The Township of Chatsworth and District, Moggie Valley Timber Inc., Midget Rep Rebels had a final meeting with the Drayton Defenders in a high pressure, winner take all game.  One team moves on in OMHA and one goes home.

The Rebels did not respond well to the pressure when from the first face off the puck went into the TCD end and didn't come back out until the Defenders were up 1 - 0.
Rebels didn't really get it together during period 1.  They did have some good opportunities but nothing compared to the first period of last game.  Rebels had 2 powerplay opportunities in the period and were unable to even the score. The Rebels powerplay was back to providing more shots to opponents than to the Rebels at times.  With 5 minutes left in the first, Rebels had some pressure on and a lose puck at the side of the Drayton net was jammed into the net.  Unfortunately, the officials did not view it the same way the players and fans did and instead of a tie game Rebels were still down one and facing a penalty kill.  Rebels successfully killed off the penalty and had some additional chances to even the score before the horn sounded to end the period.
Period 2 saw an endless string of powerplay opportunities broken up by a period of 4 on 4.  Drayton almost scored on several occasions and Lawson Cumming had to be sharp to keep the net clear even though the Defenders were short-handed.  Even playing 5 on 3 led to opportunities for Drayton and no goals for the Rebels. During the few brief intervals of 5 on 5 hockey, and one point when they were on the penalty kill, were the best scoring chances of the period for the Rebels but no combination led to a goal for TCD.
Period 3 saw more end to end hockey and a few more chances for the Rebels.  A powerplay early in the period didn't bring the Rebels any closer on the scoreboard and as the period progressed some of the players seemed to be cracking under the pressure while others were making all out, last ditch, efforts to even the score.  Finally as the 2 minute mark approached, Rebels started a powerplay again.  Jake Moran and Calvin Stewart dug the puck out of a faceoff in the Defenders end and Austin McComb came away with the puck and took it in and backhanded it into the Defender net.
With 2 minutes left the Rebels were within 1 goal.  They made every effort to even the score but when the final buzzer sounded it was still 2 - 1 for Drayton and the Rebels OMHA run was over.
Rebels made a strong effort and lost only 3 of 12 games during their OMHA run.  Of those 12 games, only 2 had final scores with more than a 1 goal difference and 5 of them went to overtime.
Rebels had some ups and downs during the playoffs but overall made an amazing effort and were a hair away from moving on to the next round.  Friends, family, and fellow Rebels are proud of how the team played and how they represented TCD when faced with some of the antics of the players, staff and fans from other locations and some controversial calls on goals costing them more than one game.
This teams playoff run is far from over.  OMHA may be over but Rebels are undefeated thus far in WOAA play and are in second position with a game in hand as they head to Ayton Monday, February 24 @ 8 pm to face the first place West Grey Warriors.
