Once again, DeJong is Mr. Overtime
The Township of Chatsworth and District, Moggie Valley Timber Inc., Midget Rep Rebels clashed with the Shallow Lake Lakers in game 3 of OMHA playoffs.  Rebels now lead the 6 point series 4 points to 2 as DeJong scores back to back overtime winners.

TCD won the flip and hosted game 3 of the series.  Despite controlling much of the play in the previous 2 games, game 3 saw each of the teams start with 2 points.  Game 3 was less lobsided from a puck possession and scoring attempts perspective and period 1 saw a number of excellent scoring opportunities and both ends of the ice.
Neither team was able to capitalize during period 1 and both were able to successfully kill off a penalty during the period.  Well into period two, Rebels worked hard to draw first blood as they tried to take advantage of a powerplay opportunity.  Unfortunately, the Rebels were not able to capitalize and as the Lakers penalty ended, the player returning to the ice was able to break out on the tired Rebels and the Lakers made no mistake and eventually scored on the play.
Rebels continued to look increasingly tired as the game continued and they could not even the score and headed to the dressing room at the end of the second down 1 - 0.  As the 3 period began, Rebels again continued to try to keep someone in front of the towering Lakers goalie as the defense and net minder both rain down punishment.  The game was fast approaching the level wherein any player touching the puck should expect to receive a big hit.  Less than a minute into the period, Josh Currie assisted Carson Torrie as he banged one home to even the score at one all.
Fans were on their feet for much of the 3rd with plenty of quality chances at both ends.  Rebel goalie Lawson Cumming turned aside everything they threw at him and shored up the holes in the Rebels defense whenever they appeared.  Rebels did everything they could to take the lead, but the horn sounded to signal the end of regulation with the score still 1 - 1.  Overtime saw more of the same -- great chances and great saves at both ends.  Several times it appeared the puck crossed the goal line into the Lakers net but the referee at the side of the net had a better view than the fans.  Finally, the Refs and Rebels agreed and Jake Moran assisted as Rebel winger Alex DeJong scored the second overtime winner in as many games to give the Rebels the advantage going into game number 4 on Thursday February 6th at 8:30 pm in Shallow Lake.
Come out and cheer on the Rebels as they try to wrap up this series and advance in OMHA play while not allowing the Lakers to have the opportunity to take it to game 5.
Let's go Rebels!!!
