On a Roll
The Township of Chatsworth and District, Moggie Valley Timber Inc., Midget Rep Rebels hosted the Drayton Defenders in Markdale for game #2 of the WOAA finals and came away with win #2.

The game started with a great scoring opportunity for the Defenders which was turned away by Rebel goalie Lawson Cumming and Rebels immediately turned it around and with great teamwork by the entire line, Calvin Stewart banged it home to give the Rebels a 1 goal lead at 14:41 of the first.
The Rebels seemed to lose some control of their emotions and the very tightly called game saw Rebels with a man in the penalty box for most of the remainder of the first and start of period 2.  After having successfully killed a number of penalties, an even-strength scramble around the net saw Drayton even the score at 13:29 of the second.
At the mid-point of the second, Rebels were applying pressure to the Drayton goalie and after numerous shots, Carson Torrie and Alex DeJong assisted as Clayton Kreuger stepped in from defense and buried it to allow the Rebels to regain the lead.
Both teams tried everything to score.  At times it was like a shooting gallery with 10 or 11 bodies in a tight circle around the front of the net and everyone swinging their stick at the loose puck over and over and over and sticks and skates and bodies and goalies blocking its path but somehow it stays out.  Both goalies made amazing saves.
Finally, with less than 5 minutes left in the game, a misplay by the Rebels in the Drayton end allowed 2 Defenders to break out and tie the game at 2.  But, 30 seconds later Jake Moran responds for the Rebels when he fires one by the Drayton defender to give the Rebels the lead 3 - 2.
Drayton pushed hard to score and with less than a minute left, they had a face off in the Rebel end and had their goalie pulled for the extra attacker.  However, from the faceoff, Hunter Schultz got it to Austin McComb, who made not mistake and hit the empty net for the insurance goal with 48 seconds remaining.
Rebels record in the WOAA playoffs goes to 2 - 0 - 0.  OMHA play starts January 20th 7:30 pm in Shallow Lake.
Let's go Rebels!!!
