A Long Drive for 1 Point
The Township of Chatsworth and District, Moggie Valley Timber Inc., Midget Rep Rebels faced off against the Central Perth Predators on Friday in Milverton. The players did not seem "perky" after to long drive to the PERC but shook it off and came out to play.
Rebels jumped out to a 1 - 0 lead 2 minutes in when Mitch Stephens scored with the assist to Calvin Stewart. Stewart assisted again at the midway point of the first when Hunter Schultz buried one to give the Rebels a 2 - 0 lead in the game.
Less than a minute later, the Preds came back and scored to cut the lead in half. The score at the end of the first was 2 - 1 in favour of the Rebels.
Rebel Austin King restored the two goal lead when he put one in the Predator's net with the help of Clay Kreuger. Unfortunately the Predators also scored again and when the Rebels took a penalty in the dying minutes of the second it allowed the Preds to even the score at 3 all.
Rebels made a number of attempts to retake the lead and Central Perth also pushed hard but were denied by Rebel goalie Lawson Cumming. The battle ended 3 - 3 and the Rebels headed home with a single point. They return to action Sunday October 27th at 8:30 in Goderich.
