NORTHERN LIGHTS LADY CLASSIC TOURNAMENT
The Chatsworth Legion Branch 464 Peewee Girls HL played last weekend in the Northern Lights Lady Classic tournament in Owen Sound.

The Rebels faced the Collingwood Lightning in their first game on Friday.  The girls gave the Lightning a good run.  Tina Johnson scored the Rebels only goal of the game.  At the final buzzer, the Rebels fell short 2-1.  Later that day, the Rebels faced the North Simcoe Capitals.  Madison Barfoot was awarded the Rebels goal in the match.  The final score was 4-1 for the Capitals.

The Rebels came back fresh on Saturday for an early morning game against the Sudbury Panthers.  The Rebels played hard but couldn’t find a way past the Panthers’ goal tender.  The Rebels lost 4-0.  In their final regular game of the tournament, the girls faced the Burlington Barracudas.  The Rebels played extraordinarily well and it was clear that they wanted to win.  Wren Jones scored the only goal for the Rebels, her first one EVER!  The Barracudas won the match 4-1.

Shaila Wellwood was phenomenal in goal for the Rebels for all of the games.

The Rebels got zapped by Lightning, clawed by Panthers, and bitten by Barracudas but had good fun and played top notch hockey every game!  The Rebels host the Walkerton Capitals this Saturday December 1st  at 11:00am on home ice in Keady.  GO REBELS!
