Javier Koeslag Owns the Highlight Reel in this One!!
The Township of Chatsworth "Barry's Construction" Pewee Boys LL played the South Bruce Blades on Friday, December 29th, 2017 at the Keady Arena. Javier Koeslag was between the pipes for the Rebels on this cold December night and he demonstrated once again that this is where he loves to be.
South Bruce proved why they have been very successful this season by scoring the first goal of the game at 8:22 in the first period. Javier Koeslag sized up his opponents and used everything in his arsenal to keep the persistent Blades from scoring for the next eight minutes of play. Jackson Greig tied things up with a breakaway goal at 6:46. Jackson Greig would score again at the 1:50 mark, on a nice stretch pass by Maverick Lacey. South Bruce did not let up and scored for a second time with 18 seconds left in the period. 2 to 2 at the end of the first period.
Period two belonged to Javier Koeslag. He stopped every puck that came his way and gave the Rebels the opportunity to take the lead once again when Aiden Callahan-Cummins demonstrated his dynamic dangling ability and scored his first goal of the game, unassisted. 3 - 2 for the Rebels at the end of the second period.
Both teams came out strong after the flood. Aiden Callahan-Cummins scored his second goal of the game, on a strategic pass by Maverick Lacey at the 10:48 mark. Things were looking good until about the five minute mark when South Bruce scored two goals in 29 seconds to tie the game 4 - 4. Javier Koeslag closed the door on all further attempts by South Bruce.
Final Score: Rebels 4, South Bruce 4.
