First Win for Midget Cs!
The TCDMHA Jennifer Tedford Remax Midget C Rebels got their first win of the season on Saturday, defeating the Owen Sound Ice Hawks by a score of 2-0.
The teams traded scoring chances without any results until late into the second period when Aly Airdrie pinched to keep the puck inside the Hawks’ blue line and dished it off to Grace Kivell. Kivell skated the puck to the top of the circle and fired a laser into the top corner of the net, glove side. The Rebels would get on the board again in the third. With 5:34 remaining in the game, Skylar Golem won the offensive zone faceoff, sliding the puck over to Kyla Thalen who went for the one-timer. A Hawks player contacted the puck at the same time as Thalen, causing it to flip end over end, in seemingly slow motion, up and over the goalie and into the net.
Congratulations to Hannah Mustard for earning her first shut-out of the season. Well deserved!
