WOLVES Double the REBELS
The 'Harold Sutherland Construction' PEEWEE REP boys got off to a slow start in Ripley tonight as they battled the Wolves in game 3 of their WOAA Playoffs.
In a one sided 1st period, Jason Rudolph-MacLeod was kept busy in the net by the aggressive Wolves' offence.
The Rebels found themselves down by 3 goals at the end of the 10 minute period, and Ripley added a 4th goal midway through the 2nd.
Both teams saw their share of power-plays, but neither were able to take advantage of them.
After what had to be an inspirational pep talk between periods, the Rebels came out strong and put the pressure on Ripley's net.
Jake Moran finally got the Rebels on the board with a breakaway and a shot 5-hole at 11:20.
Jack Kivell cleared our zone with a hard shot off the boards that sent the puck right up centre ice (those Billiards electives paid off) and Jake raced past the Wolves' defence, picked up the puck and put it 5-hole again at 8:33.
There was lots of time left on the clock, but both Jason and Ripley's goalie denied any other attempt on their nets.
Final Score: 4 - 2
Ripley comes to Keady next Wednesday (March 2) for the rematch.
Start planning the comeback boys ... You've done it before, and you can do it again!
