OVER-TIME WIN for the REBELS

In game 2 of the REBELS' W.O.A.A. Playoffs, it was a VERY even battle between the 'Harold Sutherland Construction' PEEWEE REP boys and the Mount Forest Rams.
The scoring went back and forth between the two teams leaving a tie at the final buzzer, forcing overtime.

1st period - Mount Forest was first on the board at 8:01, but the Rebels answered back with 2 goals from Austin King at 7:28 and 6:12. In the first, Calvin Stewart passed the puck to Pearce Lacey whose shot bounced off the goalie's facemask and Austin pushed in the rebound.
The 2nd had Pearce carry it in and send the centering pass to Austin for a nice shot top shelf on the power-play.

2nd period - The Rams won this rough period, scoring 4 goals ( 2 on power-plays ) to our 1.
Curtis carried the puck through the Rams' defence and sent it on to Pearce for the one-timer into the net at 1:59.  The boys headed to the dressing room down 5 - 3.

3rd period - The Rebels came out flying and knew what had to be done.  They stayed out of the box and managed to score 4 goals to the Rams' 2.  Mount Forest scored at 10:20, but less than a minute later Jake Moran tied up the Rams' centre at the face-off and Curtis Wade snuck in and fired the puck from the dot to score.
Just 20 seconds after that, Jake skated the puck in and shot it high into the net at 9:03.
The Rams scored again on a breakaway at 7:02, but Curtis got control of the puck behind the net and got the pass out to Jake who fought to hold his position in front of the net.  He popped it in the net at 5:31 ... and they weren't done yet!
Ethan Harrison sent a cross ice pass to Jake and TIC-TAC-TOE onto Curtis who buried it in the far side of the net at 3:45 to TIE the game 7 - 7.

Over-Time Period - The Rebels kept the pressure on and the Rams took a couple of bad penalties because of it.  The Rams killed the first penalty, but on the 2nd one they weren't so lucky.
Austin sent the pass to Calvin who came from the corner, faked the wrap around and cut back short side.  He flipped the puck off the goalie and it stood on it's edge on the goal line.  In a split second that seemed like FOREVER ... the puck fell over the line and into the net at 5:52.

Final Score: 8 - 7

Great Job Boys.  Two games down ... Four to go.
