We Are Going to Provincials!!
The Atom C girls tied Bruce Peninsula 1-1 tonight in a close game in Desboro. This guaranteed them a spot in the Ontario Women's Hockey Association Provincial Championship in Toronto April 8th to the 10th. Chatsworth Girls hockey has done it again as three of our teams have qualified to participate. Congratulations to the Bantams and Peewees as well!
Claire Vokes scored very early in the game to give the Rebels the lead for most of the night. For most of the game it was the battle of the goalies! Allison Hoy made many saves and Bruce Peninsula's goalie stood on her head and saved countless shots from the Rebels. The girls worked hard throughout the game but late in the third period Bruce Peninsula finally got one past them to tie it 1-1.
The Rebels have now played their six playdown games with a final record of 4-1-1. This gives them 9 points which will place them in second after Markdale. The top three of seven local teams will qualify. The third place is still up for grabs. Way to go girls and good luck at Provincials!!
