Atom Girls Compete in the 49th Brampton Canadettes Tournament
The "Desboro Lion's Club" Chatsworth Atom C Rebel girls faced some great competition in their Brampton Canadette Tournament on the weekend. Despite a tie and two losses the girls played with a lot of heart and showed the grit and determination they will need in two weeks at Provincials.

Game 1 vs. Clearview
4-4 tie
These two teams were very evenly matched and the play went back and forth throughout the game. Clearview scored first to make it 1-0 but Lyndsay Cumming quickly tied it up unassisted. Then Lyndsay scored again assisted by Natalie Mole and Claire Vokes giving us the lead. Seconds later Clearview again tied it up.
It was 2-2 going into the second and Clearview was able to get two more goals past goalie, Allison Hoy. Allison was making countless saves to keep the girls going.
In the third the girls all dug in and answered back with two more goals by Lyndsay Cumming. A hat trick plus 1! Her third goal was unassisted and her fourth was assisted by Claire Vokes. The game ended in a 4-4 tie! Lyndsay Cumming was chosen player of the game by the refs.

Game 2 vs. Kapuskasing
6-3 loss
After a great team lunch and some quiet time the girls were ready to go again!

Although it was a hard fought game they struggled to contain Kap's #13 who scored all 6 of their goals. Claire Vokes scored for us first, assisted by Lyndsay Cumming and Cecily Mallette. Then in the third Lyndsay scored assisted by Claire and Claire scored assisted by Lyndsay! What a duo! Claire Vokes got the player of the game award. 6-3 final.

Game 3 vs. Timmins
4-1 Loss
Easter Sunday at 11:30 the girls played Timmins who was undefeated in the tournament. They were an aggressive and rough team and scored first. Claire Vokes tied it up assisted by Lyndsay Cumming. As the first period progressed Timmins got another one and then 2 more when the Rebels had penalties.
In the 2nd and 3rd the Rebels adjusted to Timmins rough play and stood their ground. There were many hard battles in front of both nets but no other goals were allowed. Allison Hoy made many great saves and got the player of the game from the refs.

The girls had a lot of fun back at the hotel with the Peewee girls, in the pool and chilling in each other's rooms. Well done girls! Thanks for the memories.
