Atom Girls Struggle in WOAA Year End Tournament
Despite finishing 2nd of 11 teams in the WOAA Atom C division regular season the Rebel girls lost both of their games in their year end tournament on Saturday in Keady.

Saturday morning at 9:00 they faced Walkerton and really struggled to get their regular, fast paced game in gear. The first period remained 0-0 and then Walkerton scored twice in the second to make it 2-0.  In period 3 Lyndsay Cumming finally got the Rebels on the scoreboard, assisted by Emma Frook and Jaclyn Beirnes.  Unfortunately they could not tie it up and lost 2-1.

The team went back to coach Chris Vokes' house for some healthy snacks and bonding before they were off to their next game against Mount Forest.  Mount Forest came out strong and hard and scored four quick goals in the first period before the Rebels even knew what hit them.  The Rebels held them to only two goals in the second and third and were able to score one of their own in the second. Lyndsay Cumming came through for the Rebels again assisted by Claire Vokes and Cecily Mallette. The damage had been done however and the girls lost 6-1.

Mount Forest went on to play Markdale in the final today.  They lost 2-1 after two overtimes and the fourth shooter of shoot outs.

Hold your head up girls and focus on the great team you can be and friendships you have made!  Do your best at your playdown game Tuesday night in Desboro.
