SCOTIABANK PEEWEE HL - PLAY HARD & HAVE FUN
The ScotiaBank PeeWee HL girls had an amazing time this past weekend at Pink on the Rink.  It started with a slightly stressful drive  to the Hensall Arena to play our first game against the Blue Water Hawks Friday morning.

The game was a tough, our one and only goal wasmade by Sara Boulter, unassisted, and despite Carly Juby’s best efforts and quite a few marvelous saves, our girls lost with the Score of 8-1.

Game number two, was a totally different story.  We made our way to the Stephen Arena to rumble with Kincardine that same afternoon.  That game was an incredible, and one to remember.  We all had to wait until the 3rd period for the first goal of the game, it was our Sara Boulter.  She tucked it in beautifully assisted by Kristen Hamelin, making the score 1-0.  Which is where the score stayed, Jadzia Leask was on her game and had the shutout, the girls where pumped!

Game 3 was in Exeter on Saturday morning.  Our girls where still totally ecstatic about their last game and where ready to battle with South Bruce.  And let me tell you, this game was another nail biter!  Period one only produced one goal from the South Bruce Team, and in period two, goalie Carly Juby kept all the pucks out of the Rebels net, even know they kept pounding away at her.  In period 3, Brooklyn Mole stashed away a goal for the Rebels assisted by Grace Scott and Kristen Hamelin.  South Bruce did not like that and scored 56 seconds after ours.  So now we were sitting at 2-1 for South Bruce, and the Rebels decided that was not the way it was going to end, so with 2:07 left, Brooklyn Mole sank another one in for us assisted by Kristen Hamelin and Sarah Madill.  South Bruce pulled their goalie, but Carly Juby was not letting anymore pucks in her net and the game ended in a 2-2 tie!!

That put our girls in the semi-finals playing against South Bruce, again.  The win just wasn’t in the cards for this game, and even though goalie Jadzia Leask and the whole team tried their absolute best we succumbed to a loss of 6-0.  Aubrey Urbshott, Janna Wardell and Taylor Legge, you were also very instrumental on this out-of-sight weekend.

We are all so very proud of each and every one of you, fun was had by all, and it was for a great cause.

Way to go Rebels!!

SCOTIA BANK
The Community Hockey Sponsorship program has always been Scotiabank’s way of showing our commitment to kids’ hockey, a sport which unifies our nation, community by community. That’s why each of our more than 1,000 branches financially supports a local hockey team, league or association in their community. We know that being part of a team gives children more than just a chance to play, but also a chance to become involved in their community. That’s why we’re encouraging our branch staff and sponsored teams to donate their time – the equivalent to one practice – towards making a positive impact in their community. By inspiring and participating in volunteer initiatives, we’re committed to help communities get stronger together, like a team. Because that’s what Canada is all about. Throughout the year we’ll be recognizing and celebrating teams across the country with unique hockey experiences like visits from NHL Alumni or the Stanley Cup!
