SCOTIABANK PEEWEE HL GIRLS start 2015 on the ROAD
The Scotiabank PeeWee HL Girls were up against Walkerton today; they fought to the end but came up short with loss of 5 to 2.

The Girls hit the ice determined, and held off the Walkerton Capitals until there was only 1:18 left in the 1st period, when Walkerton scored their first goal on goalie Jadzia Leask despite her stopping several shots before that.  The Rebels held their ground and continued to battle, but the second period would only bring 3 more goals for the Walkerton team.  BUT our girls held their heads high and kept firing shots, and their persistence paid off, with Grace Scott slipping one in assisted by Brooklyn Mole past the Walkerton goalie.  Walkerton answered with a goal of their own making the score 4-1.  However the Rebels where not done, and Brooklyn Mole scored the final goal of the game, assisted by Aubrey Urbshott.  An absolutely exciting game to watch, way to go girls!!

The Girls are off to the Pink in the Rink tournament next weekend, Jan 09, 10 & 11 in Exeter, with the all the other Rebel Girls teams from Atom to Bantam !!! GO REBELS GO !!!

SCOTIA BANK
The Community Hockey Sponsorship program has always been Scotiabank’s way of showing our commitment to kids’ hockey, a sport which unifies our nation, community by community. That’s why each of our more than 1,000 branches financially supports a local hockey team, league or association in their community. We know that being part of a team gives children more than just a chance to play, but also a chance to become involved in their community. That’s why we’re encouraging our branch staff and sponsored teams to donate their time – the equivalent to one practice – towards making a positive impact in their community. By inspiring and participating in volunteer initiatives, we’re committed to help communities get stronger together, like a team. Because that’s what Canada is all about. Throughout the year we’ll be recognizing and celebrating teams across the country with unique hockey experiences like visits from NHL Alumni or the Stanley Cup!
