The Air Tech Mechanical Bantam Rebels evened their playoff record at 2-2 with a 5-2 victory over the Bruce Peninsula Predators Friday night in Wiarton.
Wiarton's Josh Chegahno opened the scoring at the 5:55 mark of the first. Reid tied the game with 1:10 left in the first period when his shot from the hash marks went 5 hole. Spencer and Cody assisted. The Predators regained the lead in the 2nd when Andrew Concordia scored. The Rebels came back with 2 goals late in the second to go into the third up 3-2. Nate outraced the Predator defender and buried a quick shot glove side. Austin drew the assist. Then James scored just 2 minutes later with Nate and Matt earning the assists.
The game plan was to score the first goal in the third and the Rebels wasted no time with Owen scoring just 33 seconds into the period. Alex H and Branson assisted. Spencer put the game out of reach with a rebound goal with 7:41 to play.
The boys travel to Walkerton Monday and finish their round robin play Tuesday in Chatty against Bruce Peninsula.
