Rebels drop WOAA Playoff Opener
The Air Tech Mechanical Bantam Rebels dropped their opening game in the WOAA Lockridge Division round robin play to Saugeen Shores Storm by a 5-2 score.
The Rebels took the lead early in the first when Spencer batted Cody's "saucer" pass out of mid air past the Storm's keeper. The lead didn't last long as the Storm replied with 5 consecutive goals. James added a late goal in the third, assisted by Matt, to bring the final score to 5-2. Colton Heipel had a big game for the Storm, scoring 3 times and assisting on their other two goals.
Next action for the Rebels is February 23 against the Storm in Port Elgin. The boys will be looking to bounce back with a stronger performance to gain a split in their home and away match-up with the Storm.
