Predators Prey on Rebels
The Bruce Peninsula Predators built a 4-0 lead and hung on for a 5-4 victory over the Air Tech Mechanical Bantam Rebels.
The Predators went up 4-0 at the 4:40 mark of the second period. First period goals were scored by Josh Chegahno and Brendan Gilbert. Andrew Concordia and Wade Barker added second period goals before the Rebels got on the scoreboard. Nate scored twice in the second to bring the Rebels to within 2 at the intermission. Matt and James assisted on the first goal and James picked up the assist on the second goal. The Rebels got the early goal they wanted in the third when Matt scored, assisted by James, just 41 seconds into the third frame. Concordia gave the Predators a 2 goal lead again at the 6:18 mark. The Rebels responded just 59 seconds later when Matt scored his second of the game, with assists going to James and Nate. A late push saw some goal mouth scrambles and a hit crossbar, but no goals. The Rebels fell 5-4 in their final WOAA playoff game and finished the round robin with a 3 and 3 record.
