Capitals Defeat Rebels
The Walkerton Capitals defeated the Township of Chatsworth Air Tech Mechanical Bantam Rebels 3-2 in WOAA Playoff action.
Tristian Zettel opened the scoring for Walkerton with 1:31 to play in the first period. Walkerton increased their lead at the 2:05 mark of the second period when Broder Currie beat Ty on a breakaway. The Rebels got on the board with a powerplay goal from Reid with 1:14 remaining in the second. Nate and Spencer earned the assists. The Capitals regained their 2 goal lead at the 6:51 mark of the third when Nick Fairminer scored on their powerplay opportunity. Owen brought the Rebels to within 1 goal when he scored a powerplay goal with 3:29 remaining in the game. Matt and James assisted. The Rebels were unable to get the equalizer and their record falls to 1-2 in their playoff round robin.
The boys will try to even their playoff record on Friday when they travel to Wiarton to face the Bruce Peninsula Predators.
