The Predators become the Prey
The Township of Chatsworth “Edward McNabb Roofing” Bantam LL Rebels welcomed the Bruce Penicula Predators to Chatsworth on Saturday. The last time these teams met, it was a nail biter down to the wire.
The Rebels came out with a fire in their belly at Chatsworth against the Bruce Pennisula Predators. The game remained scoreless though, till the last minute of the first period, when Will Kavanagh picked up a rebound off a great shot from Dawson McNabb, and chipped the puck past the Predators net minder. Kyle Fry showed great puck control in front of the net, getting the second goal, with assists going to Evan Mielhausen, and Evan Longland. A nice forward pass from Kavanagh, and a bullet fired by Longland gave the Rebels a 3 goal lead. Less than a minute later, McNabb showed off his determination and stick handling with a break away goal, unassisted. With two minutes left in the second period, Kavanagh scored again, with assists going to Longland and Sam Hicks. The third period saw Kavanagh complete the hat trick, with assists from McNabb and Longland. Kavanagh wasn't done, and added another goal on an unassisted breakaway, pinging the goalie's water bottle! Ethan Fennell stayed strong between the pipes for the Rebels, making saves whenever the Predators tried to mount a come back, but the Predator's Jude McLeod managed to score on a power play near the end of the third. Kavanagh didn't let it go unanswered, though and pulled off a 6 point game with another breakaway goal to the top shelf. Good hard skating from the whole team gave the Rebels the 8:1 win over the Predators.
