The Township of Chatsworth “Edward McNabb Roofing” Bantam LL Rebels wrapped up the season with a player and family celebration in Chatsworth on Sunday. The Rebels would like to extend a big thank you to Edward McNabb Roofing for sponsoring the team and to the fans and families for their support.
Also, a big thank you to the team staff and volunteers for all of their hard work this year. Kudos to the parents for bringing out the kids and for all of the hard work done by the parents assisting behind the scenes and thank you to the Andrew and Darrell at the Chatsworth arena and to the TCDMHA association for their support.
Bantam LL vs. Families
It was a fast-paced game with lots of action at both ends of the ice, but overall, the families dominated over the players. When 10 & 11 year olds were skating circles around them, a few of the Bantams were thinking that a little more focus on conditioning an getting in shape may not have been a bad idea after all…
Despite some tough physical action occasionally occurring on the ice, the ‘refs’ pretty much let the game be decided on the ice, and no one went to the penalty box (kind of like our last game against Mildmay). Goalies Ethan Fennell and Scott Catto both had quite a workout as neither team seemed strong on defense. Both teams played hard and with no whistles in the game, as the game wore on, players from both teams were glad to take their turn on the bench. Fans were treated to some amazing passing plays, some brilliant breakaways, awesome saves, beautiful goals and overall (mostly) good hockey. Even the event renting the upstairs, paused their festivities to take in the great action down below. No defibulator was required for the any of the oldtimers involved. In the end, the score was "a lot" to 'not quite as much' and the families walked away with the bragging rights until next season.
