The Township of Chatsworth “Edward McNabb Roofing” Bantam LL Rebels faced off against the Saugeen Shores Storm Saturday afternoon in Southampton in a tough checking game. But, the Rebels weathered the Storm.
The Rebels took the lead at the mid point of the first with a goal by Evan Longland assisted by Spencer Hanna and then ended the period up 2, on a goal by Denver Johnson. In the opening minute of the second, Dawson McNabb put one by the Storm goalie making it 3-0 in favour of the Rebels – all scored by defencemen. Just to prove that the forward line could score, Cole McCracken made it 4-0 about the midpoint of the second. Many missed nets, posts and crossbars were the results of a barrage of shots by the Rebels in the second half of the game – along with some good saves by the Storm goalie. Rebel goalie Ethan Fennell didn’t have an easy time between the pipes as he pulled out some amazing saves to earn himself a shut out and end the game 4-0 in favour of the Rebels.
