The Township of Chatsworth and District, Moggie Valley Timber Inc., Midget Rep Rebels haven't worked out all the kinks, but they did come away with a 3 - 1 victory over the Wingham Ironmen in WOAA playoffs on Thursday.

The game started out well as the Rebels won the opening face off and headed straight into the Wingham end of the ice.  After some good passing plays the Rebels just completely collapsed and let one of the Ironmen skate down unmolested and slide the puck into the Rebel goal.
The Rebels found themselves losing 1 - 0 only 35 seconds into the game.  The period continued with chances at both ends of the ice but the Rebels just couldn't seem to catch a break and tie the game.  Very late in the first, the penalties began.  Rebels have struggled all year with penalties and with keeping their cool and this game was better than some but it highlighted that the Rebels have a way to go if they hope to make it through to the next round of play.
Early in the third, Rebels scrambled and the Ironmen fired a series of shots at the Rebel net.  A goal seemed imminent but Lawson Cumming blocked, redirected, tipped, dove and managed to keep the Rebel net clear and eventually corralled the puck to give the Rebels a chance to regroup.
The Rebels regained control of the puck and Hunter Schultz headed end to end, doing it all on his own, which put TCD on the scoreboard and evened the game at one.  Less than a minute later, Josh threw the puck ahead to Brandon Stewart who skated the puck over the line and fired one by the Ironmen goalie to give the Rebels the lead for the first time in the game.  Then, while on the powerplay, Rebels made some excellent passing plays and had some excellent scoring chances.  Wyatt Golem tee'd it up for Jordan Beirnes back on defense.  Beirnes one-timed the puck at the Wingham net and Schultz fired the lose puck past the goalie and into the net through the scramble out front.  Three goals in under 3 minutes!!!  All the fans are hoping for a lot more of this type of play in the remainder of the play-offs and play-downs.  Rebels then held on to win the game 3 - 1 giving them a 1 and 1 record in WOAA playoffs.
