Rebels get Win Number 2 in WOAA Play
The Township of Chatsworth and District, Moggie Valley Timber Inc., Midget Rep Rebels faced off against Wingham for their 4th game of WOAA playoffs.

The stands at the Markdale arena were virtually barren on a cold Tuesday night, as the Rebels and the Wingham Ironmen squared off for the seventh time this season.  The players benches were also looking far more empty than they had at the start of the season (and you could see the fatigue setting in as the game progressed because of that).
Both teams seemed to be feeling each other out as the game started with some end to end play but after facing each other on 6 previous occasions this year, it didn`t take long for long nursed grudges to begin to show on the ice.
The Rebels opened the scoring with two goals in under 30 seconds before the midway point of the first.  Austin King and Hunter Schultz combined to assist Austin McComb in scoring the first, and Alex DeJong shot the puck in, Wyatt Golem passed out front to Brandon Stewart who fired it home for the second.
Rebels had a few breakdowns defensively but goalie Lawson Cumming turned away everything the Ironmen fired at him.  The first period ended 2 - 0 in favour of the Rebels.
In the second period, the Rebels added to their lead when Jordan Beirnes blasted one in, Jake Moran got a swing at it and over to Stewart who scored his second of the game.  Rebels then extended their lead to 4 - 0 when Clayton Kreuger and Schultz combine to assist Moran in scoring a goal of his own.
Wingham battled back to cut the lead to 3 but Rebels responded almost immediately with a goal to increase it back to 4 when McComb assisted Stewart as he completed the hat trick.
While most of the second period saw the penalty boxes overflowing, the third was less penalized but not necessarily less physical as the shorter than usual benches began to affect on speed and mood.
Though there were plenty of chances at both ends of the ice, the only goal came when Jake Moran did it all on his own and beat the Wingham goalie to end the game 6 - 2 in favour of the Rebels.
Rebels take to the ice Sunday for the final home game - 2 pm versus the Saugeen Shores Storm.
Go Rebels Go!!!
