Brutal is probably the best word for it...
The Township of Chatsworth and District, Moggie Valley Timber Inc., Midget Rep Rebels, continued to be plagued by injury, illness and inconsistent effort, as they lost to the Walkerton Capitals 4 - 0 in Markdale on Sunday.

During the first period, Rebel goalie Lawson Cumming made save after save as it felt almost like the Rebels forgot to show up.  Rebels had a few chances of their own, but it felt like they forgot all about keeping the puck out of their own end and away from their own net.  By the time the second rolled around, the Rebels luck had run out.  The second period ended with the score 4 0 in favour of the Capitals.  (Fans from both teams had to admit that even if the missed calls regarding goals had been made, the Capitals would have still been in the lead 3 -1).  Even with the Rebels on the power play, they couldn't keep the puck in the Capital end and allowed breakaways and a short handed goal.
In the third, the Rebels seemed to find a bit more cohesion, but struggled with penalties.  Neither team was able to capitalize on numerous chances and the score ended 4 - 0 in favour of Walkerton.
Rebels have a laundry list of things to work on at practice this week before they take to the ice Sunday at 2 pm in Markdale.  Hopefully we will see lots of hard accurate passes, team work and strong two way hockey.  We have seen games close to greatness from this team and then we get "brutal".  With playoffs coming up fast, hopefully this will be the last game were the Rebels don't live up to their potential and we have some great hockey leading us into the new year.
Go Rebels Go!!!
