Emily Meuser and the 'Country Charm Mennonite Furniture' BANTAM C girls celebrated her birthday with a WIN on Friday night in Chatsworth!
The tunes were rocking, the pucks were dropping and the REBELS were scoring, as they took on the South Bruce HL girls for their final league game of the season.
Both goal tenders defended their nets well throughout the 1st period. Finally at 1:55
Morgan Moran took a shot from the point through traffic, and
Jamie Gilchrist got a piece of it, before
Brooklyn Mole finally directed it into the net, to record her 6th goal of the season.
The REBELS kept the play down in the offensive zone in the final minute of the period and on a pass from
Grace Scott,
Reese Wilkins sent the puck into the net with just 19.9 seconds left.
The 2nd period action went back and forth, with more spectacular saves being made. With 2:32 remaining,
Grace battled for the puck behind the net and sent a pass out front.
Reese was right on it and fired a quick shot over the goal line, for her 27th goal of the season.
The lone goal of the 3rd period was within a minute of the puck dropping, when
Tristin Brown picked up a pass from
Jamie and went coast to coast with it before burying her 18th of the season, high in the Blades' net.
Lindsay Elliot was a force on defence throughout the 3rd period, denying access into our zone, rushing the puck and firing a handful of shots on net.
Ashlynn Stephenson records her 15th shut-out of the season, with a final score of 4 - 0.
The girls head to Durham this weekend for their WOAA Year End Tournament to compete for the Maroon Division title with the other top 3 teams in the league. Good Luck Ladies!
Our BANTAM C girls were excited to see a shipment of 2017 OWHA PROVINCIAL CHAMPIONSHIP HOODIES delivered to Friday's game.

... and some were just as excited to play with the box!
Thanks to

Michelle Juby, the team will be arriving at the tournament in style!
Michelle applied for the SEVP - Scotia Employee Volunteer Program, and her dedication was awarded with the $1000 donation to our team.

Congratulations to Morgan and Reese, who AP'd with the Midget C Girls last weekend and assisted the team in winning the WOAA WHITE DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP. Now it's the Bantam's turn!
