3 Games in 4 Days ... and just 1 more stands in their way!
The busy 'Country Charm Mennonite Furniture' BANTAM C Girls have themselves a 1-1-1 record in their last 3 games.  Thankfully the loss came Friday night in league play, while the tie and the win earned them valuable points in their OWHA Playdowns.

Friday March 3 vs Mount Forest Rams vs_Mount_Forest_Rams.JPGin Chatsworth, 1 - 0 loss
This was a very even match with strong defense at both ends of the ice.
The only goal of the game came on a rush by the Rams' captain midway through the 2nd period.
It was a great team effort by the REBELS.

Sunday March 5 vs South Bruce Blades South_Bruce_Blades.png in Teeswater, 1 - 1 Tie
After sneaking out a 2-1 win over the Blades last weekend, we knew that all we needed was a TIE to (potentially) secure our spot in the OWHA Provincial Championship Tournament.  There was a last minute change in venue as our game was bumped from Mildmay to Teeswater ... but the way our record has gone this season with games in Teeswater (Nov 20th: 1 - 1 Tie, Jan 15th: 2 - 2 Tie) we were thinking it might just be fait.
It definitely wasn't our best game of the season, but with a "fluky" shot from the blue-line that arced about 30 feet in the air ... Emily Meuser scored the REBELS lone goal of the game as it dropped right into the net over the goalie's shoulder, Short-Handed, on an assist by Tristin Brown at 0:38 in the 2nd.
The Blades came out hard in the 3rd and tied it up in just 18 seconds ... and most of the final period was spent with Ashlynn Stephenson making amazing saves and the rest of the team in defensive mode.
South Bruce pulled their goalie for the final 2 minutes, but Ash had already locked up for the day and there was no way the puck was getting by her!

Monday March 6 vs Walkerton Capitals Walkerton_logo.png in Walkerton, 7 - 0 WIN
The girls looked like they were getting back into their groove and with a full-line effort, Grace Scott passed to Tristin at centre ice, who skated down, took the shot and Aubrey Urbshott poked in the rebound at 5:36 in the 1st period.
With the pressure in Walkerton's end to start the 2nd, Reese Wilkins passed back to Emily at the blue-line for a hard shot that went in 5-hole at 13:52.
Jade Gilcrhist netted a beauty from the top of the circle, assisted by Carly Juby and Tristin at 8:36.
Tristin went coast to coast and fired high into the net at 5:35, with assists going to Maggie Hoy and Grace. . . and Aubrey finished off the period with one of her angled shots from beside the net at 0:46.

With Tristin taken down behind the net, Aubrey used the diversion to pick up the puck and sneak it over the goal line to complete her hat-trick at 13:59.
After a slight delay with the scoreboard losing power and going blank, the girls kept the puck in Walkerton's end and Morgan Moran fired it from the point to score one last goal at 0:25.

The REBELS host Walkerton tomorrow night (Wednesday) at 7:00pm in CHATSWORTH for their final OWHA Playdown Game ... and hopefully that should nail down 1st place and their ticket to PROVINCIALS!!!
