Xtreme Heating Peewee C Girls score Twice in Loss to Markdale Shooting Stars
The Rebel Peewee C Girls went down fighting in a 7-2 loss against the Markdale Shooting Stars on Saturday afternoon in Markdale.
In the first period goalie, Jaclyn Beirnes saved many shots to keep the game at 2-0 for Markdale. The Rebels battled hard and held them until halfway through the second when Chatsworth scored to make it 2-1. Jayden Thalen picked up the puck in our end, sped down the ice and fired it past the goalie into the top right corner. Markdale answered back with one of their own to make it 3-1. Not to be outdone Lyndsay Cumming picked up a chip pass from Cecily Mallette and skated around the Markdale defence to score to make it 3-2! Emma Frook also assisted. Unfortunately, the third period got away from them and Markdale scored four more goals for a final score of 7-2. The girls have been improving every game. Keep up the great work!
