Big improvement for Novice Rep Rebels
Playing the Bruce Peninsula Predators for the second week in a row, the Horton Concrete Novice Rep Rebels had something to prove and came out skating this morning in Keady. Kody Cook opened the scoring on an unassisted break less than 2 minutes into the game. Jacob Fluney kept our net empty and we ended the first up 1-0.
Keeping the pressure on, Cook scored again unassisted to make it 2-0 Rebels midway through the 2nd. Showing heart of their own, the Predators battled back, eventually taking a 3-2 lead in the 3rd. Less than a minute later though, the Rebels answered back on an end to end rush from Matthew Lafond, after picking up a pass from Finlay Johnston in our own end.
There were a few more chances at both ends, but the goalies kept the nets empty to end it at a 3-3 tie. This was a major improvement over the previous week where the Predators won the game 6-2. Cook had both goals in that effort.
Next up is a date with Hanover on the road.
