Last minute goal lifts Horton Concrete Novice Reps to 4th straight win
Fresh off 2 wins Sunday in Paisley, the Horton Concrete Novice Rep Rebels faced a pair of road games Tuesday in Tara against the AEMHA IceDogs and Wednesday in Wiarton against the Bruce Peninsula Predators looking to keep their modest win streak alive.

First up was the IceDogs, who were still smarting from the defeat handed to them in their host tournament.  It was a much more competitive game and the score remained tied until the last minute of the first when Matthew LaFond was able to "pinball" a shot in off 3 defenders to break the deadlock, assisted by Carter Frook.  The 'Dogs came back to tie it early in the second before our one goal lead was restored on a blast from Kody Cook unassisted.  Some furious back and forth action (which would lead to several penalties on each side), saw the 'Dogs pressing to tie, before Cook was able to get his second, assisted by Colton King to allow the Rebels to hold on and stretch their win streak to a season high three games.
The next night in Wiarton, the Rebels were challenged by the coaching squad to prove that the current streak was no fluke.  The boys came out working hard and were able to generate some good chances before pulling ahead 1-0 on a low, hard shot by LaFond, from Hunter McComb with 00:28 left in the first.  Midway through the 2nd, the Preds tied it up and pulled ahead 2-1 with 7:31 left in the 3rd.  The streak looked to be in jeopardy, but the boys kept doing the right things and pressed on before finally tying it up with just 3:07 left on hard shot from Cook, assisted by Jhett McKee.  It looked like we were headed for a tie until the Preds took a tripping penalty with 2:15 left to play.  Throwing everything they had at the Preds goal, Hunter McComb blasted a hard shot from the point that missed, but ricocheted out to the side of the net where Colton King was able to lift it past the downed Preds goalie to secure the win and keep the streak alive.  Great job by ALL the Rebels who have really been working hard at doing the right things and getting rewarded with results.  Next up is another road game Monday against Shallow Lake.
