Tough loss in season opener
It was a bit of a slow start for the Horton Concrete Novice rep Rebels as they hosted the Hanover Falcons in their season opener.
It was Hanover's 10th game of the year and it showed as they jumped out to a 5-0 lead midway through the 2nd. The Rebels found their legs and improved their positional play as the game went on though, and answered back before the end of the 2nd when Hunter McComb was able to beat the Falcon's goalie assisted by Carter Frook and Finlay Johnston.
The Rebels opened strong in the 3rd when McComb potted his second of the game assisted by Frook and Matthew Lafond. The Falcons were able to beat a busy Rebel goaltender Jacob Fluney, who did his best to keep it close. Final score a 6-2 loss, but actually a 2-2 tie for the last half of the game. Great effort by all. Next game is on the road in Shallow Lake next Monday.
