It was cool blue skies and sunshine outside the Chatty arena Saturday morning but our girls were heating up on the ice! The Jennifer Tedford Remax Midget Girls 'C' team hosted South Bruce Saturday morning. South Bruce took first attempt at controlling the game at puck drop but it didn't take long for the Rebels to move the game out of their end and start shooting.
Peyton McCauley got us on the board within the first 3 minutes with assists going to Ashlyn Mackison and Astelle Ward. South Bruce battled back but Maddie Thompsonwas determined to get a bigger lead and knocked one in before the 1st period ended with some help from Sarah Bryans and Colleen McNabb.
The 2nd period didn't put any goals on the board, but the 2 goaltenders still had their work cut out for them as both teams were looking for the win.
After the flood and some rest, Carlie Cook took a pass from Renee Farrow and put us ahead by 3. Holding on to that momentum, Bryans knocked one in with McCauley andThompson assisting. South Bruce kept coming at us but Ceaira Hiemstra shut them out and the Rebels take this game 4-0. Great effort girls! That's what we like to see!
