The snow finally let up in Kincardine to allow their midget girls team to travel to Chatsworth Wednesday night to meet up with the Jennifer Tedford Remax Midget Girls "C" team.
Kincardine dominated the 1st period leading 2-0 to end the 1st period.
Kincardine scored early in the 2nd putting our girls back 3-0 and kept coming on strong looking for their 4th. Chatsworth's Kaylin Mustard was able to act from a beautiful pass from Lillian Harshman and put us on the board before the 2nd period ended.
That must have been some kind of Coach's pep talk during the flood because this Rebels team came to play in the 3rd period. Keeping the Kinucks goaltender busy right from the puck drop, Mustard found the back of the net again with Sarah Bryans and Grayce Stephen assisting. Realizing they were back in the game, the Rebels came together as a team with quick hustle and did not give up. With 2 minutes left in the game and fresh out of the penalty box, Ashlyn Mackison knocked one in with the help of Renee Farrow & Brittany Batterman assisting to tie the game 3-3.
Solid goaltending from Ceaira Hiemstra closed the door on the Kinucks and good effort by the rest of the Rebels team made the 3rd period exciting and enjoyable to watch. Way to work as a team and come back girls!
