ScotiaBank Bantam HL Girls enjoyed Christmas in the Valley
This past weekend the Scotiabank Bantam HL Girls traveled to Nottawasaga/Alliston for the Clearview IceCats Christmas in the Valley Tournament.  It was a weekend full of ups downs, Christmas Shopping, laughter and team spirit.

Game one was a battle with the Oakville Golden Hawks.  After a couple of quick goals by the Hawks in the first period the girls stepped up their game.  Unfortunately they just couldn't find the back of the net.  They held off the Hawks until the end of period 2.  Period 3 the Rebels lost their luck and the final score was 5-0 Oakville.

Game two against the Georgina Goldenhawks was one of the best games the Scotiabank Bantam HL Girls have played this season. From the first puck drop you knew it was going to be fun to watch.  At almost the halfway mark in the first period Janna Wardell set up Brooklyn Mole for a beautiful goal. Putting the Rebels on the board for the first time that weekend.  This was the highlight of two periods of great back and forth hockey. Going into the third the Rebels knew they needed to widen the gap.  1-0 was too close for comfort.  Both teams wanted the win. Once again at the halfway mark the Rebels came through.  Aleesa Airdrie with some help from Kayla (Kyla Thalen  ) Goaltender Jadzia Leask and the team held off the GoldenHawks for the rest of the third earning a 2-0 shutout! Way to go Rebels!

Game 3 against Tournament hosts the Clearview IceCats was a nailbiter!  For three whole periods these two teams battled in a fantastic game of back and forth hockey.  The Scotiabank Bantam HL Rebel Girls worked hard every shift. But they could not put on in the net.  With just a 2 minutes on the clock the Rebels luck turns and score was 1-0 IceCats.  In an attempt to bring the score back to even the bench staff pulled the goalie but it wasn't enough.

The Community Hockey Sponsorship program has always been Scotiabank’s way of showing our commitment to kids’ hockey, a sport which unifies our nation, community by community. That’s why each of our more than 1,000 branches financially supports a local hockey team, league or association in their community. We know that being part of a team gives children more than just a chance to play, but also a chance to become involved in their community. That’s why we’re encouraging our branch staff and sponsored teams to donate their time – the equivalent to one practice – towards making a positive impact in their community. By inspiring and participating in volunteer initiatives, we’re committed to help communities get stronger together, like a team. Because that’s what Canada is all about. Throughout the year we’ll be recognizing and celebrating teams across the country with unique hockey experiences like visits from NHL Alumni or the Stanley Cup!
