Slow Start in Round 2 too . . .
Not sure if it was the pressure of Game 1 against the undefeated Shallow Lake Lakers or the fact that the boys actually had school today (the 1st Monday this month), but the 'Harold Sutherland Construction' Peewee Rep Rebels came out a bit flat and just couldn't pull this one off.
Jason Rudolph-MacLeod kept his team in the game with just under 30 saves tonight.
The strong Lakers defence kept the Rebels' shots to a minimum, and their long bench helped keep their energy level up.
With 4 less skaters in the lineup, the Rebels gave all they had to keep up with the Lakers tonight.
Gavin Gibbons got Shallow Lake on the board with a minute left in the 1st, and added 2 more in the 3rd.
With a Laker in the box in the final minutes of the game, Jason headed for the bench and the Rebels went on a 2 man advantage. They were able to keep control of the puck and
Austin King fired one past Lander Hartley with 0:41 left on the clock, assisted by
Jake Moran and
Pearce Lacey.
Final score 3 - 1.
Get some rest boys ... the COMEBACK starts Wednesday night in Keady!
HURRY HOME CURTIS!!!
